Services honoring the life of Anna Mae Sellers will be held 10 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2017 at the Washington Baptist Church in Foyil. Interment will follow in the Washington Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Rice Funeral Service. Anna Mae passed away Monday evening, Oct. 16, 2017 in Claremore. She was 86.
Born October 13, 1931 in Claremore, Anna Mae was the daughter of Jake and Martha (Horner) Rader. She grew up in Rogers County where she graduated from Sequoyah High School. Anna Mae married Calvin Sellers on May 31, 1949 in her parent's home.
As the wife of a pastor, Anna Mae was always very involved in her church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, music leader, and regularly attended services every Sunday and Wednesday. Anna Mae was a terrific cook, known by many for her wonderful pies. She loved gardening, crocheting, and watching sports of all types. Anna Mae loved the Oklahoma Sooners and in recent years, she became a huge Oklahoma City Thunder fan. She was always a big supporter of the Foyil Panthers where she won the "Fan of the Year" award.
Anna Mae loved to run her errands around town every Monday and never missed a hair appointment on Thursday.
She always looked forward to socializing with friends along the way. Anna Mae never met a stranger and will be dearly missed by a host of friends and family that loved her.
Surviving family members include her children: Bobby Sellers and Linda Clark (Walt); her grandchildren: Justin Sellers (Kelli), Andrea Davis (David Woods), Autum Vandenameele (Brandon), Angela Whitehead, and David Whitehead (Caprice); her great grandchildren: Illiana, David, Abby, Avery, Kellen, Peyton, Lauren, Connor, Chase, Kye, Kaiden, Kaleb, Kyeon, and Kamron; and her brothers: Dan Rader (Katherine) and Earl Ray Rader (Judy). Anna Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Calvin; her grandson, Brandon Sellers; and six siblings: Lucille Clemmens, Sam Rader, Archie Rader, Ross Rader, Minnie Burns, and Zelma Francis.
