Barbara was born June 8, 1932 in Claremore, the youngest of seven children, to James Sellers and Drucilla Mae (Tillery). She attended school and graduated from Claremore High School. Upon graduation, Barbara started working for Southwestern Bell as a telephone operator. She married Kenneth Easterling on Nov. 20, 1953 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church. Barbara and Kenneth were blessed with two children, Ronald and Sherrill.
Barbara performed the tasks of homemaker while her children were young. In addition, she taught piano lessons out of her home. A gifted musician, she played the organ at Trinity Church, where she and Ken were charter members, for more than 30 years. She also taught Sunday school and was a great prayer warrior.
Barbara and Ken fell more in love with each other every day. They enjoyed camping and took numerous outings to Blue Bill on Ft. Gibson Lake. Ken preceded Barbara in death in 2008.
Throughout her life, Barbara enjoyed using her hands in needle point, crocheting and quilting. She was able to bless many family members with the gift of her quilts. These treasures will forever be cherished. She also had a knack for gardening and canned her crops every summer. Most of all, she loved her family and delighted in tagging along to all of the grandkids' activities.
Barbara is survived by her son, Ronald Easterling and wife, Jeanine of Claremore; daughter, Sherrill Blan and husband, Kenny of Verdigris; grandchildren, Nathaniel Easterling of Claremore, Melissa Easterling of Broken Arrow, Anita Keely and husband, Nate of Claremore, Jason Houtman and wife, Stacy of Broken Arrow, Jennifer Stafford and husband, Steve of Linn Creek, Mo., Ashley Rogers and Wes Blan both of Tulsa; great grandchildren, Maddison and Maddox Houtman, Camdyn and Mason Blan and Hunter and Lillian Keely.
