Barbara passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the age of 67.
The daughter of John and Ruth Cherry was born August 23, 1948 in Raleigh, North Carolina. At a young age she and her family moved to Claremore. There she attended Claremore schools, graduating with the class of 1966. She then continued her education earning an associate degree through NEO in Miami.
In 1972 in a meeting arranged by a friend, Barbara was introduced to Kenny Rader. The two quickly became a couple, and married May 31, 1972. They made their home in Claremore and began the next chapter in their lives.
Over the next several years Barbara would work side by side with Kenny framing homes, as well as taking care of the children. In the mid 1990's Barbara and Kenny retired and fulfilled one of their dreams and moved to Florida. After several years in the sun they moved back home to Claremore.
After the passing of Kenny in 2004, Barbara began a new chapter in her life. Having a love for children, she began working as a para at Foyil schools. She also began following her love for live music, motorcycles and traveling.
In the past few years Barbara took several trips by herself, to places such as New Orleans, Florida, Nashville and many places in between. She also traveled to many Bikes, Blues and Barbeque rallies in several surrounding states.
Most recently, she even began taking a zumba, and was referred to by all in the class as the zumba queen.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Cherry, and husband Kenny.
Survivors include her father, John Cherry; daughter, Diedrea "Dede" Rader-Brownlow and husband Travis; son, Tadd Rader and wife Tracy; grandchildren, Desiree Brownlow, Flint Brownlow, River Brownlow, Brittani Cavilee, Tori Rader, Hailey Stanton, and Caleb Stanton; great-grandchild, Raylee Cavilee; brother, Larry Horton; niece, Brenda Sisson and nephew, Jess Sisson.
