Betty Finley

Betty Joyce Finley passed away Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Clarehouse in Tulsa. She was 79.
Services will be held privately by her family.
Born November 19, 1939 in Graymont, Georgia, Betty was the daughter of Marvin and Laura Mae (Holloway) Turner. Joyce attended a one room school school house in Twin Cities and spent most of her childhood in the Savannah area. She loved the southern culture and regularly told stories about how the farmers always took care of each other.
Joyce worked in several restaurants and cafeterias while raising her children. She completed her CNA training and pursued a career in home health care. In 1977, Betty met Frank Finley in Charleston while he was changing ports. They stayed in contact over the years and upon his retirement from the Navy, they decided to get married on February 28, 1991. They settled in Claremore and lived happily ever after.
Joyce loved to read mystery novels and love stories. She also enjoyed sewing, working cross word puzzles, and making things with her hands. Joyce was loved dearly and her memory will remain in the hearts of many people who loved her.
Surviving family members include her husband, Frank Finley of the home; two children, Randy Schmidt and his wife, Anjanett of Tulsa and William Schmidt of Tulsa; grandchildren: Alyssa, Ashley, Eric, and Dylan; and her great-grandson, Jaidyn. Joyce was preceded by her parents.
Please direct memorial contributions to the Clarehouse.
