Bobby Gene Blunt, son of the late Marvin Blunt and Louise Blunt, was born on June 17, 1935 in rural Parma, Missouri and passed away on January 11, 2019 in Claremore, Oklahoma at the age of 83.
On January 9, 1960 he was united in marriage to Mary Anne Sandbothe in Kansas City, Missouri. Bob and Mary Anne were devoted in love and had just celebrated their 59th Wedding Anniversary.
Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Sherri (Tim) Evans of Bentonville, AR, Susan (Michael) Wilson of West Linn, OR, and by sons Richard (Debra) Blunt of Bella Vista, AR, Christopher Blunt of Broken Arrow, OK and Craig (Michelle) Blunt of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters Maggi (Bud) Riley, Linda Turner; brothers Larry (Teresa) Blunt, Charles (Bernice) Blunt, and Richard Blunt. He is also survived by his three granddaughters Maleigha Evans, Willow Wilson, and Everly Blunt.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Helen June and Verna Springs; and brothers Leroy Blunt and Marion Blunt.
Bobby retired from Texaco Inc. as an Internal Auditor in 1994. Bob never stopped learning and kept up with current events by reading several newspapers each day and poring through articles online. He especially enjoyed reading about politics and history and took every opportunity to discuss and debate what he learned with friends and family. An avid sports fan, he followed the ups and downs of the KC Royals, KC Chiefs, and OKC Thunder.
We will all miss his wisdom, humor, and always entertaining stories about growing up in southeast Missouri. Nothing made him happier than being with his children and grandchildren, watching them grow, and listening to their laughter. We were very blessed to call him our husband, dad, Bobpop, brother, friend, and best friend to his dog, Daisy.

I enjoyed working with Bob at Texaco. He taught me a lot, and was always generous and kind. He loved to tell stories and was very good at it. He talked about his family a lot. He will surely be missed!
