Funeral services for Bobby Lee Jenkins, 79, of Chouteau will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant View Baptist Church in Pryor with burial to follow at Highland Cemetery in Inola. Pastor Jerold Pilant will officiate. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care.
Bobby Lee Jenkins was born on July 10, 1937 to Prue and Minnie Lee (Lewis) Jenkins in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He departed this life on December 26, 2016 at his home in Chouteau at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 16 days.
Bobby grew up and attended school in Tulsa. On October 26, 1956 he married Carol Sue West and they made their home in Tulsa. From their union came 4 children Tim, Tammy, Robert and Tina. In 1958 he joined the United States Air Force and served for over a year. Later he and his family moved to Inola. Bob owned and operated his own transmission shop in Tulsa and later one in Inola and Chouteau.
He loved music and was an excellent musician. He played the guitar, banjo and also composed music. He also loved inventing tools. He always strived to make jobs easier by making or inventing tools to help. One of the tools he invented was later patented. He loved people and was very generous and would help anybody who needed it. He loved his family very much and he will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Sue "Granny Chicken" of the home; two sons, Tim Jenkins of Locust Grove and Robert Jenkins of Catoosa; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and adoptive grandchildren; one son-in-law Gary Nave; two brothers James Jenkins of Henryetta and David Jenkins of Tulsa; one sister, Dana Evans of Morris and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by two daughters Tammy Pierce and Tina Nave.
