Funeral services for Catherine Crow, 85, of Leach, will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Leach. Pastor Eric Armstrong and Jim Martin will officiate, with burial following at Elm Cemetery in Leach. Viewing and book signing hours will be held on Friday from 4- 9 PM at the funeral home. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care in Pryor.
Catherine was born on February 26, 1931 in Lowery, Oklahoma to Elmer and Mary (Watkins) Carroll. She passed away on March 15, 2016 at her home in Leach at the age of 85 years and 18 days.
Catherine graduated from high school and went on to obtain her Master's Degree in Education. She was married to Jack Crow in March 23, 1947 and they made their home in the Leach community. Catherine taught kindergarten at Woodland Junction then later taught Business at Locust Grove High School, until her retirement.
Catherine loved her husband very much; she enjoyed helping and being with him on their farm. She was a member of the Travel Masters and traveling was her favorite hobby. She loved her flowers and birds; she was always sure to keep the birds fed during the winter months. She was also a volunteer for the Gilcrease Museum in Tulsa for several years. Catherine loved spending time with her family, especially the grandkids that she was constantly fussing over and making sure they were taken care of.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Leach for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Wright and husband Edwin of Leach; 3 grandchildren, Terri Lynn Schrader, Ty Schrader and wife MacKenzie and Justin Wright and wife Crissy; 4 great grandchildren, Cutter, Sophie, Zane and Izzy; 1 brother Delmar Carroll and wife Joyce of Denver and 1 sister Dorothy Partain and husband Leonard of Colcord.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack in 1990; her son, Bill Crow and her sister Doris Hiler.
