Funeral services for Clara Rosetta Holman will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 2:00 PM at the Locust Grove Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow at Hogan Cemetery. Pastor Jeff Blair will officiate. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care.
Clara Rosetta Holman was born on July 15, 1915 to J.W. and Lillian (Harrison) Sanford in Locust Grove, Oklahoma. She passed away on December 21, 2016 in Pryor at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 6 days.
Clara grew up and attended school in Locust Grove and graduated with class of 1931. She was a lifetime resident of Locust Grove, except for living in California for one year. On December 21, 1935 she married Johnnie Holman and from their union came five sons and two daughters. Clara was homemaker and she loved taking care of her family. It was pretty well known that Clara ruled the roost and was the family boss.
She loved to cook and was very proud of her cooking. She also loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren, she wanted to know everything they were doing. She was the rock of her family and they will miss her deeply.
Clara attended and was an active member of Locust Grove Free Will Baptist.
She is survived by four sons, Leroy Holman and wife Shirley of Locust Grove, Wayne Holman of Locust Grove, Sam Holman and wife Melissa of Yukon and Randy Holman and wife Charlene of Bentonville, AR; one daughter Brenda Buckley of Desoto, TX; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and five great- great grandchildren; one brother Bob Sanford of Ardmore and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Lillian, her husband Johnnie, one son Jack, one daughter Geraldine Wynn, four brothers and two sisters.
