Debbie Lynn Watkins, 55, Salina, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 in Pryor. She was born on Sept. 29, 1961 in Tulsa, the daughter of Lee Stokes and Marilyn (Scott) Stokes. Debbie had lived her life in the Salina area and was a member of the Salina Church of God-Holiness Church there. She graduated from Northeastern State University with her Bachelor's Degree in Education. Debbie was an Elementary School Teacher for Salina Public Schools for 32 years. She enjoyed traveling whenever able. Debbie loved her children and grandchildren and all the time spent with each of them. She was a loving teacher to all the children in her care. Debbie will be so very missed by so many whose lives she has touched.
Funeral Services for Debbie are Thursday at 2 p.m. Nov. 10, 2016 in the Salina Gymnasium with Rev. Lorne Beck and Nathan Teed officiating. Interment will follow in the Ross-Mayes Cemetery at Salina, Oklahoma with Jacob Littlefield, Chris White, Clint Gardner, Randall Plumlee, Morris Groshong and B.L. Bailey serving as casket bearers. Debbie is survived by her children; Trelynda and husband, Chris Burgess of Salina, Jacklyn and husband, Colton of Salina; her mother, Marilyn Stokes of Salina; her brother, Rodney and wife, Ople Stokes of Salina, OK; four grandchildren, Colton Burgess, Holly Burgess, Chase Parker and Ivy Burgess; many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father Lee Stokes and one daughter, Kendale Watkins.
