On Sept. 2, 2017, Donald a devoted veteran passed away at the age of 83 at the Veterans Center in Muskogee, Okla.
Donald was born on March 18, 1934 in Hundred, West Virginia to Burl and Edna Roberts.
He graduated from Hundred High School. He worked in Timken at Tinker Roller Beering. In 1956, he was drafted and stationed at Camp Desert Rock Nevada, he was an "Atomic Veteran". He met the love of his life Carolyn Bryan at a restaurant in Cameron W. Va. The couple married on April 17, 1964 after only 27 days of dating. They moved to Girard, Ohio where he worked at a steel mill from 1965-1980. They moved to Tulsa, Okla. in 1980 and then in 1981 they moved back to Parkersburg, WV. At that time, he started his Country Store which he operated for five years. In 1985, they moved to Inola, Okla. and in 1991, they made their home in Claremore where Carolyn worked at Rogers State College.
Donald was a devoted husband, a very kind and gentle man and easy going never letting anything bother him. He enjoyed sports there was not a W.V.U. or Ohio State football or baseball game he did not watch. He also loved listening to Jazz and 1950's music.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bob and Bud; and his sister, Kathleen.
Donald is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Carolyn of the home; nieces: Jean Crihfield of Hundred, WV, Linda Snider of Holland, Michigan ; Pam Fuller of Charlotte, North Carolina, Susan Nein of Canton, Ohio; Nephews: Mike Cork of Buckhannan, W. Va., and Chris Roberts of Canton, Ohio; and several great nieces and nephews, several great great nieces and nephews.
