Ed "Squeegie" Braswell, 65, Pryor, died Feb. 9, 2016 in Tulsa. Braswell was a retired Mayes County Deputy. Services are Friday, Feb.12, at 2 p.m., at Stephens-Key Chapel, interment in Tahlequah City Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care in Pryor. He was born on July 8, 1950 in Tahlequah to George and Phoebe (Moseley) Braswell. He died on Feb. 9, in Tulsa. He grew up and attended school in Tahlequah, graduating from Tahlequah High School in 1968. He attended Rogers State College where he received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. He worked as a police officer in Chouteau and Salina but the majority of his law enforcement career was spent at the Mayes County Sheriff's Office where he served as a Deputy Sheriff. After retiring, he worked several years at Stephens Memorial Chapel. Ed was married to Rana on June 12, 1981 in Chouteau and they made their home in Pryor. He loved fishing and outdoor cooking, collecting indian art and woodworking, but the thing he enjoyed most was spending time attending any activity his grandkids were involved in. Braswell is survived by his wife Rana of the home; three children, Andrew Braswell and wife Cynthia of Claremore, Daniel Braswell and wife Summer of Claremore and Chenoa Smith of Bartlesville; 14 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; two sisters, Denise Taylor and husband David of Tahlequah and Norma Egbert and husband Dave of Edmond and one brother, Sonny Braswell of Tulsa; also numerous nieces, nephews, friends and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
