Eddie Rose

Memorial service for Eddie Lee Rose will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Reverend Paul Simpson will officiate. Eddie passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 9th, 2018. He was 92.

Born April 2, 1926 in Sageeyah, to Mark and Edith (Brazeal) Rose, Eddie attended Foyil Schools. Following his schooling, he worked for a moving company before he enlisted with the Marines. Eddie proudly served his country during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery. Upon his return to the States, Eddie worked on a milk route for a time before he obtained a job at Douglas working as an electrician. In 1949 he married Jeannette Karma Shebley in Oregon and the couple made their home there for a while before moving to Claremore in 1952 and this has been home since.

After Eddie retired from McDonnell Douglas in 1982, he became a farmer. He bought a tractor and instantly found much happiness in tending to his farm. He grew a large garden each and every year, which always produced more than his family could ever eat and he then shared with those he loved. Eddie also loved to fish and travel; together they saw all 50 States. He gave back to his community by coaching pee wee ball and being involved with his church. A people person, Eddie enjoyed spending time with family and friends; and could make a new friend with a good story and friendly smile.

Those family members that survive include his wife Jeannette of their home in Claremore; his children Janet Kay Pollock of Wenatchee, WA, Judy Carol Wheeler of Claremore, Brenton Lee Rose of Greensboro, NC, Randy Mark Rose of Ft. Smith, AR, and Brenda Kay Rose also of Claremore; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
