Elaine Doris (McCoy) Gibson, loving mother, sister, faithful and compassionate servant, was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on June 11, 2018 at the age of 71. Throughout her life it was her devotion to her family, and her firm belief in our Lord that gave her strength every day.
Elaine was born in Windsor, MO on December 5, 1946 to the late Woodrow P. McCoy and Edna (Voelker) McCoy.
From an early age it was Elaine's passion serving the Lord and helping others. Elaine was a member of Christ the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Tulsa where she served the Lord in many ways including being a member of the choir, singing solos, and teaching Sunday School. Even as Elaine battled mental illness later in life, she continued her journey in faith by singing, attending local churches, and bible studies in her nursing home where she was a witness for God to all. God blessed Elaine with a beautiful voice, which she used to glorify Him throughout her life. Her beautiful voice and piano playing will be dearly missed.
Elaine was blessed with a loving family. She was married to Gary L. Gibson for eighteen years and together they had four children. She is survived by her children; Chris Gibson and his wife Jennifer of Claremore, Kari (Gibson) Raiano and her husband Luke of Milford, NH, and Kevin Gibson and Megan of Sandy Springs, GA; brother: Duane C. McCoy and his wife Gill of Lexington, SC; her aunt: Doris Reno of Indiana; three grandchildren, Ryan Gibson, Katherine Raiano and Caroline Raiano; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Elaine was preceded in death by her stillborn son, Kyle Gibson, her father Woodrow P. McCoy and mother Edna (Voelker) McCoy.
A generous and loving woman graced our lives and will be missed forever.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 21 from 9am to 8pm at Rice Funeral Service, 631 East Will Rogers Boulevard, Claremore. Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 22 at 11:15am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 220 N. Seminole Ave, Claremore. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Tulsa.
