Frederic "Fred"'s Story
Frederic "Fred" Elwood Hensey, born in Taylorville, IL in 1939, passed away in Conroe, TX on December 1st, 2017 after a long battle with Pneumonia. He was preceded in death by his spouse of 29 years, Sudie "Sue" Ann (Melton) Hensey, January 18, 2015.
Son of John L. Hensey and Annalou (McGuire) Hensey. Fred was a resident of Elkins Lake in Huntsville, TX. An avid golfer with nine career holes in one, Fred was active on advisory boards in Elkins Lake CC and Bentwater CC, where he was an advocate for the golf course, their staff and was dedicated to making the facilities and courses the finest.
Mr. Hensey retired from Metallic Building Company in Houston after a long career as Director of International Sales. Previous to his career at MBCI, he was a self-made independent businessman in Illinois. He loved hunting, fishing and was an avid waterskier, snow skier and cherished his life living on the river in East Peoria, IL. Fred made many lifelong friends in all parts of the country.
He is survived by his children, Brett (Susan) Hensey of Laguna Beach, CA; Nikki (Jim) Lind of Northville, MI; Kurt Hensey of Wilmington, DE; Kenneth (Bobbi Lynn) Hensey of Milton, DE; and nine grandchildren who he was very proud of. Also survived by his sister, Cynda Aleno of DeLand, FL; two Nieces and his fiancée, Margaret Ferguson of Huntsville, TX.
Services will be held at Sam Houston Funeral Home in Huntsville, TX at 3:00 pm on Saturday Dec. 9th. A gathering at his home for friends and family will be hosted following the services.
