Frieda K. Oswald

God has sent for Frieda Oswald to come home. She always said God was letting her live here on earth on borrowed time. Frieda has decided today February 8th 2018, after 98 years, it was time to go home, to be with husband Francis and her parents Pearl and Nicholas Kapuchuck. Her sisters Anna LaBuda, Mary Laurnatis, and Gloria Koontz all of PA. John from Ohio, Joseph from PA and Eugene from OK. Frieda was born in Coy Junction, PA on February 5, 1920 to Pearl and Nicholas Kapuchuck. The family then moved to Waterman, Indiana, Kiskimere and settled in Hyde Park, PA. She met and married her husband Francis in 1940. During the war she was working in Pittsburg, PA as a welder in a ship yard. Frieda and Ozzie settled in Johnstown, where they raised their two children. She worked various job to help supplement the income. She retired from the Johnstown school system in 1983. Frieda loved to travel and was very active in the woman's clubs, the Slovik Band Hall and Politics, she was a staunch democrat. After the passing of her husband in 1988 Frieda moved to CT to live with her daughter and husband, Frances and Jay Knipple. The family all moved to Vero Beach, FL in 2016. Frieda loved her family more that life itself. Her Grandchildren and Great grandchildren where her whole life. Beside her daughter Fran and son in law Jay she leaves behind her son Dennis Oswald and his wife Jennifer. Her grandchildren Tonia (Knipple) Anderson and husband David and Matthew Knipple All residing in FL. Michael Knipple from CT. Dennis and Scott Oswald residing in OH. Her great grandchildren, Corey, Brandon and Brady Anderson living in FL, Justin Anderson in CT. Rachel and Andrew Knipple living in CT. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. A special thanks to her niece Martha who visited her twice in 2017. Frieda's wishes are to be cremated. There will be a Christian memorial service for her and her remains will be taken back to Johnstown she will be placed in the mausoleum at Grandview Cemetery next to her husband. A Memorial Service will be held at St. John of the Cross in Vero Beach at a later date. We love you mom, and gram. Rest in peace.
