He was born on December 6,1932 and was 85 years old.
Glen was born and raised on a farm in Parsons, Kansas where he lived with his parents and 10 siblings. Glen was always a caring and responsible person starting when he was a young boy. He had a paper route and he hunted rabbits to help feed such a large family.
He married his highschool sweetheart, Barbara Walker. They had two children, Glenda June and Michael Ray. He is survived by his children Glenda and her husband, Jim Wilson; Michael Tarvin and his wife Kathy; grandchildren Clay Shaner; Joel Sexton and his wife, Kelsey; Jared Wilson and his wife, Lindsay; Mathew Tarvin and his wife, Gabby; Amanda Tarvin; along with great grandchildren Elijah and Mira Wilson, Jodie and Libbie Sexton, and Bianca and Valentina Tarvin; and his two sisters, Rosie and Wilma.
Barbara passed away in July this year. They spent the last few months together in the nursing home.
Glen was a Corporal in the Armed Forces. He received a National Service Medal and was released to Army Reserves. He was a machinist by trade until he retired but also had an electrical degree.
Glen was very proud that he taught his daughter, Glenda to stand in his hand at 6 months old. In his later years he told everyone he met about it. He also enjoyed making furniture and toys for his children and grandchildren including cradles, night stands, Noah's Ark , swords and shields.
The memorial service will be held at New Life Baptist church at 24705 S. 4140 rd in Claremore at 1:00pm this Saturday, September 8th. His care has been entrusted to Delozier Funeral Home.
