A Memorial Service for James Edgar Guess will be held on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at the Claremore Church of the Nazarene at 7 p.m. Jim passed away Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2016 at his Claremore home at the age of 71 after an extended illness. Jim was born on January 2, 1945. Jim was a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force and served from 1968 to 1974. He worked for IBM for 19 years and then became an entrepreneur helping people with their computers through his company, “One on One Computer Help.” Jim loved music as he played the French horn and directed three different church choirs. He also loved worshipping the Lord and helping to bring others into God’s presence through music. Jim’s faith in Jesus began at age 6. He served the Lord faithfully from childhood until he entered into eternity with his Lord. Jim was a very friendly man who was a peacemaker and servant at heart. He was a faithful and active member of the Claremore Church of the Nazarene. At his passing, he was a member of the Church Board and the Church Sunday School Superintendent. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, Joe D. and Mary Guess and his brother, Joe Frances Guess. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, daughter, Laura Le Bron and husband Robert, son Michael Guess and wife Josina, and his son Nathan Guess. His grandchildren include: Malachi, Zora, Serphina and Phoebe. Jim will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His faithful servants.” ~Psalm 116:15
