Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, 2016 at Claremore Assembly of God. Pastor Dave Mewbourne will officiate. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Rice Funeral Service. She went home to Heaven Friday, Jan. 29, 2016. She was 90. Johnnie, affectionately known as Nonnee, was born April 26, 1925 to Lillie Mae (Davis) Crudup and Clarence Percy Crudup of Durant, Okla. The Crudup family moved to Claremore before Johnnie was two years old. Johnnie has considered Claremore her home ever since. After college at OSU, Johnnie married Rolla Griffith and traveled with him as an Air Force wife until 1971 when they retired to Seminole, Okla. During those years she became a born again Christian. Her hope was for life and blessing to everyone, truly peace on Earth, good will toward men. She shared her faith with her family and friends. She supported churches, ministries, and missionaries everywhere she went. In the early seventies she earned a Masters of Library Science from OU. Then she taught, and was a librarian wherever she found herself. Returning to Claremore in 1988 Johnnie volunteered at the Oklahoma Veterans Center, The Literacy Council, Second Impressions, and Claremore Assembly of God. Johnnie believed in hard work and worked to the best of her ability every day of her life. She believed in being loyal and faithful, and she was. She loved her family and friends more than can be expressed. In her spare time she loved reading, gardening, her cabin in the woods, and travel was her joy. The hope that Johnnie had for eternal life came from decades of faith in Jesus. Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people both now and forevermore. Psalm 125: 1-2 NIV She is survived by her adored family: son, John Griffith and his wife Chris; daughter, Jody Smith and her husband Jim; daughter-in-law, Biscuit Tilahun Griffith; grandson, Kiffa Guller Lincoln Shirley and his wife, Nicolette Genevieve; grandson, James Edward Smith and his wife, Anne Xenia; great grandson, James Henry Smith; granddaughter, Kathryn Lillie Smith; granddaughter, Genevieve Anne Smith and grandson, Tilahun Rolla Griffith. She will be missed by everyone who knew her. Preceded in death and now reunited in eternity with Rolla Griffith, her sweet husband of 67 years; her adored sons, Rolla Edwin Griffith, Jr. and James Edward Griffith.
