A celebration of life for Claremore resident, Kyle Eudell Dover will be Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016 at Rice Funeral Home in Claremore, 631 East Will Rogers Boulevard, Claremore, Oklahoma 74017.
Kyle passed away Monday, Dec. 12, 2016 in Tulsa, after a brief illness. He was 85 years of age.
Kyle was born Aug. 26, 1931 to William Owen and Lois Mae Dover. He grew up in Claremore and married his High School Sweetheart, Betty Marlene Mayberry.
In high school, he worked for Rice Funeral Homes. After High School, Kyle joined the Navy. He was a veteran of the Korean War. Upon completion of his tour with the Navy he worked for defense contractor, Mc Donnell Douglass. He later worked for American Airlines for 30 years until he retired December 1988.
Kyle enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles and traveling. Having grown up across the street from the Claremore tennis courts influenced Kyle's great love of tennis. He was known for having a wicked serve and took great pleasure in beating guys 20 - 30 years his junior.
Kyle was preceded in death by his parents Owen and Lois (Kyle) Dover. of Claremore. He was also preceded in death by his son, John Owen Dover (2004)
He is survived by his spouse of 65 years, Marlene Dover, of their home in Claremore, Okla.; son and daughter-in-law Jerry and Debbie Dover of Southwest City, Missouri; daughter and son-in-law, Janelle and David Hankinson, of Sequim, Washington; daughter-in-law, Jody Dover of Tulsa; sister Analila Dover of Seattle, Washington.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Jennifer (Camron) Ayers, Joshua Dover, Jamie Dover, Chad Stevenson, Jonathan (Kelli) Cunningham, Justin (Hailee) Dover, Jeremiah (Cari) Dover, Tyler (Falycia) Hankinson, Brent (Amber) Beachly, Logan Hankinson,and Hayley Hankinson.
He is survived by 15 Great Grandchildren: Caleb, Corey and Cyler Ayers, McKayla, Lilli and Kaden Cunningham, Olivia Wopart. Gavin, Brady, Lane and Azzlyn Beachly, Emily and Jett Stevenson, Avy Hankinson, and a new baby girl Dover due any day.
He leaves behind sister-in-laws, Marie Cline, Marcellette Iovine and many nieces, nephews.
