Funeral services for Loena Crystean Reed, 89, of Big Cabin will be held on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor with burial to follow at Adair Cemetery. Pastors Jerold Pilant and Roy Evans will officiate. Services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care.
Loena Crystean Reed was born on May 26, 1927 to Walter and Kate (Dunlap) Randolph in Watts, Oklahoma. She departed this life on April 7, 2017 in Pryor, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 12 days.
Loena grew up and attended school in Watts, graduating from Watts High School. After graduation she attended Draughn Business School in Tulsa. On July 6, 1947 she married Harold Leon Reed and from that union came two sons. In 1974, she and her family moved to Pryor from Mason City. She went to work for Wal-Mart as a stock clerk and retired after 25 years. She attended Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, word search and fishing. She loved to travel and had traveled all over the United States including to Alaska three times. She also loved to bake and was especially known for her bread pudding, chocolate pie and chicken and dumplings. She also had a green thumb and loved working in her flower garden. Loena was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved her family more than anything and she was the glue that held them, she would do anything for anyone that she loved. Her family loved her deeply and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her two sons, Terrel Reed and wife Susan of Bixby and Randall Reed and wife Virginia "Sissy" of Big Cabin; six grandchildren, Tracy Reed, Dana Billingsley and husband Adrian, Jennifer Bailey and husband Bruce, Eric Reed, Keylen Reed and wife Amber and Connor Reed; six great grandchildren, De'Ante Reed, Brice Bailey, Derek Bailey, Victoria Reed, Ryanne Reed and Zach Bailey; one sister Ruth "Dolly" Cummings of Grove and one half brother and sister, Jimmy Randolph and Betty McCollum.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, three brothers and one sister.
