Linda Anita Johnson Huey was born in Hanford, Calif. on January 9, 1937. She met and married her high school sweet heart Dan Huey in Baytown, Texas. They lived in Texas, Venezuela, and Oklahoma.
Linda was an exceptionally loving person, with the gift of mercy and grace. Everyone had a friend in Linda. An exquisite listener, she made you feel significant and loved.
She was always your biggest encourager, full of uplifting words, no matter what you were working towards or struggling with. She always saw the best in everyone.
Her hobbies included working in her garden. She grew vegetables, herbs, and flowers and beautiful roses. She played the piano and enjoyed singing, especially hymns. She loved having tea with friends, and always opened her home lovingly, putting others first. Her house was a place of tangible peace.
Linda's love for Jesus was palpable. Talks with her revealed a rich relationship with Christ. She was humble enough to share what she was going through or how she was experiencing God, and thus many have gleaned wisdom and a deeper relationship with God because of it. Always involved in her church, from choir to children's ministry, from prayer teams to missionary support, she touched a multitude of lives. She left a true legacy of Christ and love.
She passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 30, 2016. She was 79.
Linda is survived by her husband, Dan Huey of the home; children, Susan Hutchins and husband, Jeff, Paul Huey and Jill Jordan and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Sarah Gollotte and husband, Clark, Jeff Hutchins and wife, Azusa, Jessica Basler and husband, John, Jared Hutchins, Jennifer Carta and husband, David, Jeremy Surls and wife, Kayli; great grandchildren, Tobin, Fikrte, Jillian, Aria, Jack, Cecily, Belle and Falon; brothers, Gary Johnson and Steve Johnson and wife, Jodye.
