Services honoring and remembering Mae Ellen Thye will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2018 at the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore, Okla. with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday Jan. 8, 2018 at the funeral home.
Mae passed away Dec. 31, 2017 at her home in Claremore. She was 88.
Mae Ellen Thye was born Oct. 27, 1929 in Claremore, Okla., the daughter of Hobart and Mae (Anderson) McCaskey. She attended Verdigris grade school and graduated from Claremore High School. After graduating she moved to California and started a family, of which she was blessed with five children. She worked in Reno, Nevada at various casinos as a hostess, and had many fond memories of meeting and working with famous musical artists and groups. She moved back home in 2004 to Claremore to be with family here. Mae had a green thumb and loved working with flowers, and making her yard beautiful. Mae loved to volunteer in the communities that she lived in, and she will be missed by all who knew her.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her brother: Junior McCaskey and his sister: Pauline McCaskey
Mae is survived by her children: Allan Jensen of Hawaii, Barbara Henman of Citrus Heights, California, Martha Jensen of Vacaville, Calif.; Larry Jensen of Dixon, Calif., Tim Shropshire, Sr. of Claremore, Okla.; one sister: Nelda Langford; nine grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and a host of friends.
