Private family services are scheduled to celebrate and remember the life of Mariah V. Holley-Field. Mariah passed away on Friday, Aug. 4, 2017 in Tulsa, Okla. She was 57. The family has entrusted DeLozier Funeral Service in Chelsea with Mariah's care.
Born in Crystal, Okla. on Oct. 28, 1959 to Robert and Leola (Mitchell) Holley, Mariah was raised in her birth community and attended Atoka Public Schools. She married the love of her life, James "Bo" Field in a Foyil, Okla. ceremony on Feb. 10, 2008. The couple made their home in Foyil and Colorado.
Mariah enjoyed people and her career with Wal-Mart as a CSM was the perfect fit. She excelled at her position and made many friendships; not only with those she worked with but with many of the customers.
She had a wide variety of interests, but none more important to her than family. It was even said by family that she tried to take care of everyone and many times neglected her own health. But that was just who Mariah was. She had a love for children that couldn't be explained and she became a mother and granny to countless young people throughout her life. Mariah gave them the nurture and care that only a mother and granny can and becoming the only positive impact in their young lives.
Mariah was very proud of her Native American heritage. She would spend hours working on genealogy and making Native American jewelry. She chose her daughter, Ayesheia, to be the one to carry on the stories and culture of her Native American people. Mariah would tell her the stories, many of which weren't even written down, so she could continue this legacy. She also had an interest in all religions and spent time studying and educating herself to many different ones.
This wife, mother, grandmother, and friend will be missed by all whose life she touched. Mariah is survived by her husband, James "Bo" Field, daughter, Ayesheia Holley-Boyd, children that she impacted their lives, B.J. Friend, Khyiesha Thompson, and Odie Dandridge, grandchildren, Robert Holley, Justice Burrus, and Phoenix Boyd, brothers, Fred, Robert, Odel, Harvey, Marian, and Dale Holley, sisters, Melva Mitchell-Green, and Mae Holley. She was preceded in death by her father, and granddaughter, Khyre Boyd.
