Mary Ann's Story
Mary Ann Duniphin, 92, of Spavinaw, Oklahoma, was born on December 21, 1924, in Spavinaw, Oklahoma, to Nannie Emma (Vann) and John Owens. Mary grew up in the Spavinaw/Salina area and attended school in Spavinaw. She married Hollis Duniphin and moved to the Blue Springs area where they were both were life time members of the Blue Springs church. Mary Ann was a home maker and loved taking care of her family and raising four boys. She always raised a huge garden to feed the family and her and Hollis worked very hard and raised cattle. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Blue Springs Church in Salina with Pastor Loren Beck officiating. Burial will follow in the Chouteau North Cemetery with Anthony Duniphin, Shane Duniphin, Kelsey Duniphin, Brian Duniphin, Colton Duniphin and Roy Patton serving as casket bearers. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Sunday April 23, 2017 in the Shipman's Funeral Home Chapel. Mary Ann is survived by her son, William (Squeal) Duniphin and wife Sandy of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; sister; Darlene Williamson; daughter n law, Linda Duniphin of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; 3 grandsons, Anthony, Shane & Brett Duniphin; granddaughter, Terri Barksdale of Spavinaw, Oklahoma; 4 great grandsons, Kelsey, Colton, Kasey Duniphin and Blane Spears; 1 great granddaughter, Laney Duniphin; 5 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; John and Nannie Emma Owens; husband, Hollis Duniphin; 3 sons, Carl, Robert and Rick Duniphin; 4 brothers and 1 sister; 1 granddaughter, Denise Duniphin Spears; 1 grandson, Daniel Duniphin; 1 daughter n law, Brenda Duniphin; granddaughters, Vicki Richardson and Shelby Barksdale.
