While in high school Nadine excelled in and lettered in basketball her senior year. After marrying her second husband, Eli, she became an upholsterer, and together they owned and operated Eli's Upholstery for many years. Her favorite hobbies included bowling and fishing; however her favorite pastime was spending time with her large family, especially her many grandkids and great grandkids. She was affectionately known as "Granny" by many in town and was often seen walking her grandkids daily.
