Raymond J Couch was born Feb. 4, 1937 in Pryor, to Clyde R. and Ollie Ann (Ramsey) Couch. He died Sept. 1 in Joplin, MO., as a result of a 2 year battle with Parkinsons Disease.
Raymond grew up on a farm in a rural area of Pryor. He was a graduate of Pryor High School with the class of 1955. He and Ruth Ann Wolff were married in St John Lutheran church on November 22, 1956, and later they became long time members of that church.
Raymond joined the United States Army Reserves in 1958. He worked as a farm machinery mechanic for a number of years in Mayes County and the Tulsa County area. After moving to the Tulsa area, Raymond and Ruth had a home built in Owasso in 1969 where they resided and raised two daughters for the last 46 years. Raymond retired at the age of 65 from American Airlines where he was employed as a ground maintenance mechanic. Raymond and Ruth loved to travel. He was an avid Bluegrass Music fan and proud to be a member of the Republican Party. Raymond loved his family dearly, he enjoyed spending time with them and loved to drag them on trips with he and Ruth weather they wanted to go or not. Raymond will be deeply missed by all that knew him.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents and his only sister, Wynema.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Ann; two daughters and their husbands, Kim and Roy Mericle and Kristy and Howard Turner all of Joplin, Missouri; two granddaughters, Whitney and Ashleigh; three grandsons, Travis, Trevor and Trace.
Those that knew Raymond would know that he would not want you to mourn his passing, and ask that he be remembered, by each and every one of you, by you casting your vote for Donald Trump.
