Memorial service for Roger Dale Ragland, 70, of Pryor will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Stephens-Key Funeral Chapel. Brother Steve Lay will officiate. Cremation services are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral and Cremation Care.
Roger Dale Ragland was born on November 11, 1945 in Marshall, Arkansas to Edgar and Myrtle (Jackson) Ragland. He passed away on October 19, 2016 at the age of 70 years, 10 months, and 24 days in Muskogee, Oklahoma.
He grew up and attended school in Marshall, Arkansas and graduated with the class of 1964. In 1965 he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1967. On February 5, 1966 Roger married Pauline M. Marshall and they had five children, Rena, Christy, Marvin Dale, Brent, and Mandy Lee. In 1981 they moved from Marshall to Pryor and made their home. He was a self-employed drywall contractor for forty years.
Roger enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and doing anything outdoors. He loved watching his grandkids in all their sporting events and his greatest joy was spending time with his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He attended church at the Chouteau Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline, of the home; two daughters, Rena Wood and husband Jason of Pryor and Christy Thomas of Pryor; two sons, Marvin Dale Ragland of Pryor and Brent Ragland and wife Jamie of Pryor; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild; one brother, Eutaw Ragland and wife Debbie of Pryor; four sisters, Sue Finney and husband Charles of Pryor, Madge Reid of Tennessee, Eileen Barrett and husband Ronnie of Marshall, Arkansas, and Beverly Morrison and husband Gene of Marshall, Arkansas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Myrtle; one daughter Mandy Lee Ragland; three brothers and three sisters.
