Sandra's Story

Sandra (Sandy) Irwin was born to Lovell Dennis and Ella Mae Cheek. Sandy was a loving and caring person who lived life to the fullest and was always giving to others. She valued her faith and encouraged this onto those around her. She was a member of Midwestern Baptist Church.
During Sandy's years, she was a 4H President and member. She had 11 years of perfect attendance in school and 12 years at Sunday school. She was always very proud of this achievement and valued education. She received he RN degree in 1969 from Bacone College in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Sandy had taught classes for Girls Auxiliary at Sequoyah Baptist Church. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, till moving to Council Bluffs, Iowa in 1989 and worked at Jennie Edmundson till she retired in 2012.
Sandy was an avid doll collector and cherished every one of them. She would see a doll and knew exactly who it was meant for. She had a good eye in finding antiques and enjoyed items like depression glass.
Preceded in death by parents, Lavell and Ella Mae Dennis; daughter, Rebecca Lynn; son, Danny Carl; and brother in-law Tannis (Ike)Lickliter.
Survived by husband, Michael Irwin; son, Robert Irwin and wife, Michelle Ferestad; granddaughters, Carissa and Shianne Ferestad-Irwin, all of Omaha, Neb.; sister, Carol Licklighter; brother Jack and wife, Dorothy Dennis; a host of very special aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and one special cousin, Danny Bill Dennis.
