Tresa's Story

Tresa Lucinda Harris was born on Nov. 3, 1932, in Yonkers, Okla., to Joseph Austin and Lucinda (Haner) Joice. She departed this life on Sunday, Aug. 28, in Tulsa, at the age of 83.
Tresa graduated with the Locust Grove High School class of 1950. Except for the time that her husband was in the military, Tresa had lived in Yonkers near Locust Grove, almost her entire life and had been a homemaker. On May 19, 1952, in Wagoner, Oklahoma, Tresa and Alvin Henry Harris were united in marriage. They had been married for over 59 years, until Alvin passed away on Dec. 20, 2011.
Tresa had been a part of the Cedar Grove Church in Locust Grove when she was able to attend. Throughout the years, she had volunteered at the Nursing Homes and the Rainbow House in Locust Grove. Tresa was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed sewing, braiding rugs and playing croquette. She loved to go fishing and camping. Tresa stayed on the go all the time. She will be missed by all the knew and loved her.
Tresa is survived by: four children: Alvin Henry Harris, Jr. and wife Vanessa of Worland, Wyo., Paul Edward Harris and wife Sue of Locust Grove, Clinton Earl Harris and wife Diana of Chouteau, and Regina Diana Conn of Locust Grove; 10 grandchildren: Amber Harris, Jason Harris, Paul Harris, Ryan Harris, Gavin Harris, Brandy Harris) Leach, Clinton Harris, Cally Harris, Jonathan Conn, and Savanna Conn; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; one Brother: Willard Joice and wife Helen of Locust Grove;1 sister: Arye Owen of Locust Grove;Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Tresa was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; and 6 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services are 3P.M., Friday, Sept. 2, at Locust Grove Funeral Home Chapel in Locust Grove. Interment will follow at the Haner-Adair Cemetery in Locust Grove.
