Graveside services honoring the life of Wesley Dietrich will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9 , 2017 at. Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore. The family will receive visitors from 6-8 PM Friday at Rice Funeral Service.
Wesley passed away Monday, Sept. 4 in Claremore. He was 90 years old
Wesley was born April 4, 1927 in Okmulgee, Okla., the son of Anthony and Birdie (Stokes) Dietrich. He was reared in Claremore, attended Claremore schools and sold newspapers as a boy at the corner of Will Rogers Boulevard. At the age of 17 he joined the US Navy and was a "Seabee" during World War II in Europe. After two years in the navy he enlisted in the Army Air Core and retired from the US Air Force in 1966.
Surviving family members include his sons: William Dietrich and his wife Lydia of Claremore, Okla., Phillip Dietrich and his wife Elsie of Cedar Park, Texas; grandchildren: Tony Dietrich and his wife Bethanie, of Claremore, Jonathan Dietrich of Claremore, Okla.; great-grandchildren: Mark Dietrich of Claremore, Okla., Breanna Self and her husband, Colton of Verdigris, and Luke Dietrich of Claremore, Okla.; several nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends.
