Ann Louise Snider was born on April 30, 1927, in Yonkers, Oklahoma, to Daniel and Sally (Downing) Batt. She departed this life on Sunday, May 8, at her home in Locust Grove, at the age of 87 years and 8 days.
Growing up, Ann attended schools at Anadarko, Tahlequah Sequoyah, and Locust Grove. She had lived in Boston, Massachusetts until making her home in Locust Grove for the past 50 years. Ann and Phillip Snider were united in marriage in 1969. Phillip preceded her in death on October 3, 2009. They had been married for over 40 years.
Ann loved to attend services at the Ballou Baptist Church in Locust Grove. She was the Cafeteria coordinator for the Locust Grove schools for over 15 years. Ann enjoyed fishing and painting ceramics. She loved gardening flowers and watching cooking shows on television. Ann loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and great grand children.
Ann is survived by: one son, Kirby Walker, Sr. and wife Charlene of Tulsa; one daughter: Fern Elaine Kolb and husband Don of Crosby, Texas; two grandchildren: Kirby Walker, Jr. and wife Brittany of Chouteau, and Teri Tauzin and husband Todd of Sugarland, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Allison Walker, Abbigail Walker, Aubrey Walker, Ashley Walker, Jonathan Tauzin, and Ryann Tauzin; one sister: Gloria Dreadfulwater of Locust Grove; one aunt: Esther Cooper of Locust Grove; one nephew: Mike Riley of Locust Grove; one niece: Dawn Palmer of Chouteau; one great -niece: Cindy Chupp and husband Stanley of Inola; one great-nephew: Daniel Riley of Tulsa; four honorary grandchildren: Daniel, Emmett, Nevaeh, and Tye Chupp; Numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Ann was preceded in death by: her parents; her step-mother: Beatrice Batt; her husband; 2 brothers: Mervin Batt and Jack Batt; 1 sister: Darlene Postoak; and 1 granddaughter: Kelly Walker.
Funeral services were held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 11, at Ballou Baptist Church near Locust Grove. Pastor Clinton Ballou and Reverend John Osage officiated.
