Memorial services to honor and remember the life of long time Claremore resident Betty K. Glover will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends are welcome to join the family for the graveside service. Rice Funeral Service has been entrusted with Betty's care, since her passing on Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016. She was 89.
Born Betty Bertina (Krauter) on July 15, 1927, in Claremore, Okla., she was the daughter of Bert Daniel and Ruth L. (Nichols) Krauter. She grew up and made her home in Claremore, only leaving to attend one year at Oklahoma State University. On Nov. 12, 1945 she married Willard Glover and together they raised three children.
Betty had a passion for helping others, but never wanted to be given credit for any of her efforts.
She had a servant's heart and a desire to honor the Lord in everything she did. Betty had a long career as a social worker in Rogers County and when she retired, she dedicated much of her time to helping at her church — Destiny Life, volunteering at one of the local elementary schools, and delivering Meals on Wheels. She enriched the lives of many by making friendships at area nursing homes and assisted living facilities. She devoted herself to family and cherished the rich experiences shared with her grandchildren.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many, Betty leaves a lasting legacy.
Those who survive are her children, Nancy Donaldson and her husband Aaron of North Carolina, Lynda Vice of Claremore and Jon Glover and his wife Kimberly of Texas; four grandchildren, Michelle Ray, Kyle Donaldson and his wife Keira, Jessica Vice and Taylor Glover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Willard and a sister, Jeannene Kleck.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Destiny Life Senior Women's Ministry, would be appreciated.
