A Mass of Christian Burial for Carol Ann Kublnick will be held 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church. Rice Funeral Service has been entrusted with the arrangements. The family will receive visitors from 4-6 p.m. followed by a rosary on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carol died at her home in Claremore, Okla. on Jan. 9, 2017 at the age of 65 surrounded by friends and family. She had been under hospice care following a several month long illness. She was born Carol Ann Knapp on Oct. 4, 1951 in Pittsburg, Kan. Her father was William R. Knapp, a career navy chief petty officer, and her mother, Ann M. Knapp, a US civil service employee.
Carol Ann attended a number of parochial schools across the country during her father's naval career. She graduated from Father Colgan High School, Pittsburg, Kan. in 1970 and received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration from Pittsburg, KS in 1974. Carol Ann married Richard Kublnick of Independence, Kan. in 1974 at St. Barbaras Church, Chicopee, Kan. The couple moved to Oklahoma after their marriage and Carol Ann worked in several accounting positions in Tulsa, Okla. and retired from the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce in 2013.
Richard preceded Carol Ann in death in 2011. Carol Ann was a member of St. Cecelia Catholic Church in Claremore. Carol was very much loved by her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter Katherine Ann Williams and her husband Orion Williams of Claremore, her grandchildren, Cody Williams and Taylor Williams of Claremore, her mother-in-law Alice Jones of Independence, Kan., and sister-in-laws Beth Nichols of Independence and Becky Humphrey of Cherryvale, her brother, Patrick Knapp and his wife, Becky Knapp of Joplin, Mo. Carol Ann had 2 nieces and a nephew and 2 great nieces. Carol Ann had numerous cousins living in the Kansas City, Kan. area and Denver, Colo. She will be sorely missed by all.
