Charles's Story

Charles Eugene Colvin was born January 29, 1940 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma to Berman and Kye (Hughes) Colvin. He departed this life on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Locust Grove, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years and 2 months.

He grew up in the Locust Grove area, graduating high school here in 1958. He served his country in the Unites States Army, returning to Locust Grove after his discharge. He later attended classes to become a barber and served Locust Grove in that capacity for many years.

Charles lived most of his life in Locust Grove, but had spent some time in Fort Lewis, Washington and Great Bend, Kansas. He enjoyed the outdoors where he spent time fishing and camping. He will be missed dearly by his friends and family.

Charles is survived by:

2 sons: Charles Colvin and wife Heather of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Curtis Colvin of Inola, Oklahoma;

5 grandchildren: Sammy, Charles, Shawna, John, and Brandie;

6 great grandchildren: Aydin, Zandir, Alexander, Alice, Jared, and Quinton;

He was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife; and a half-brother: Kenneth Rabbit.
