Memorial services for Charles Lewis Spradlin, 66, Pryor, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 10AM at Stephens-Key Chapel in Pryor. Cremation arrangements are entrusted to Stephens-Key Funeral & Cremation Care in Pryor.
Charles Lewis Spradlin was born on Jan. 17, 1950 to Lewis and Maudie (Dobbs) Spradlin in Tahlequah. He passed away on Aug. 27, in Tulsa at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 10 days.
"Charlie" as he liked to be called, went to school at Peggs and later to Tahlequah where he graduated with the class of 1966.
Charlie worked for the Mayes County Sheriff's Office, where he worked as a deputy and a dispatch officer under Pete Weaver. He then worked for Avis Auto in Las Vegas for a number of years and later moved his family to Sulphur Springs, Texas where he worked as a mechanic for 8 years. He eventually moved back to the Chouteau area and worked for Roberts Ford. After leaving Ford, he went to work for the Pryor Police Department as a Dispatch Officer and retired in 2015 after 17 years of service.
Charlie loved fishing and playing with his fur babies and spending time with family and friends. He loved his law enforcement family as well.
Since his retirement, he had been able to travel, do woodworking, ride horses and do the things he had only dreamed of doing; his last years were happy and full of life.
He is survived by his life partner, Linda Weakley, of the home; four children, Julie and Todd Hagar of Chouteau, Tina Spradlin of Tulsa, Misty and Brian Stevens of Pryor and Jerry Hammack of Chouteau; also Linda's children that he loved just like his own, Dusky and Mike Mann, Shanda Weakley and James and Jennifer Weakley. He also has 17 ½ grandchildren and 8 ½ great grandchildren plus several inherited brothers and sisters and nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved deeply, along with all his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jane Spradlin and grandparents, Frank and Ada Spradlin and Lizzie Dobbs.
