M. Gail Johnston, 77, of Adair, Oklahoma, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 in Adair, Oklahoma. She was born on February 17, 1939 in Adair, Oklahoma the daughter of Shorty and Eunice (Simmons) Kay. She graduated Adair High School in 1957. Gail then worked at an attorney's office as a paralegal until 1967 when she married Joe Allen Johnston on December 21, 1967 in Pryor, Oklahoma. She moved to Oologah where she worked as a dairyman until 1985. Gail stayed at home caring for her family until 1988 when she went to work for Wal-Mart until 2000. She retired to stay home and care for her mother until 2006. Gail moved in with her son from 2006 until her passing. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing and making baby quilts. Gail had to be home for the start of her Soap Opera's every day. She was a feisty, lovely Christian lady who enjoyed life. She loved babysitting her grandchildren and all the time she was able to spend with each one.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 10 a.m. in the First Baptist Church in Pensacola, Oklahoma with Reverend Mark Igert. Interment will follow in the Ghormley Cemetery with Tim Johnston, Chris Johnston, Ronnie Johnston, Donnie Johnston, William Lear and Doug Johnston serving as casket bearers. She is survived by her son, Joey and wife, Brandy of Adair, OK; daughter, Audra and Skylar Johnson of Tulsa, OK; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Shorty and Eunice Kay.
