Services to remember and honor the life of Lester Floyd Sisk, Jr. will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2016 at Foyil First Assembly of God. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 4-6 p.m. His pastor, Brother Jack DaMico will share words of comfort. Rice Funeral Service has been entrusted with Lester’s care. He will be laid to rest at Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth, Texas beside his mother. Lester passed away at his home on Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 just days before his 74th birthday. Born Feb. 18, 1942 in Fort Worth, Lester was the son of Lester Floyd and Thelma Mae (Douglas) Sisk, Sr. He grew up and received his education in his birth community. He then served four years in the Air Force. With both his career as an overland truck driver and his years in the military, Lester saw virtually all of the country. When Lester and Mildred Copeland married they became proud parents to two children, daughter Tammy Lynn and son Michael Glen. Texas was home for the Sisk family through the years, starting in Fort Worth and then settling long term in Houston. When daughter Tammy added grandchildren to Grandpa Lester’s life, he had no greater joy. Shortly after his retirement, he chose to move to Oklahoma so he could be closer to those special treasures. The Claremore area has been home ever since. Lester got well acquainted with folks, especially in the Foyil area. And he was pleased to find a warm and loving church family that enriched his life greatly. He often spoke to his family about the good folks at Foyil First Assembly. Lester Sisk, Jr. was a man of strong stature that had a soft and loving side known well by all his family members who survive — though it was actions, not words that expressed that abiding love. Family members are his children Tammy Reinbold and Michael Sisk both of Muskogee; sisters: Darlene Smith of Gulf Port, Mississippi, and Patricia Taylor of Junction, Texas, three grandchildren: Chris, Brandon and Alyssa, two great grandchildren: Lane and Leliana, and one on the way: Nova Jewell.
