Chelsea - Alan Wayne Baker, 74, of Chelsea, Oklahoma left this earthly world peacefully to be with the Lord on October 14, 2023 at his Ranch near Bushyhead, the AWB , surrounded by family and friends.


He was born August 14, 1949 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, son of the late Paul and Phyllis Baker. Alan was the eldest of brothers Terry, Jay and Jimmy.


Alan began working at 14 years of age for LeRoy's Grill and Pro-Am truck stop at I44 & 193rd in Catoosa, OK as a dishwasher then was promoted to a cook, he also hauled hay during the summer. He then started a life in commercial construction as a carpenter after graduating from Catoosa High School in 1967. Alan had high ambitions and became an entrepreneur, founding his first company, Daco Construction, Inc in 1975 becoming one of the largest general contractors in Oklahoma with many companies to follow, the latest being Baker & Baker Properties, LLC. Alan had MRL Rodeo Company, a stock contractor for 3 years then later owned several race horses and broodmares. He was a member of the Catoosa Masonic Lodge and a Shriner, was on the Catoosa Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors holding position of Chamber President in 1989 and also on the Catoosa Planning Commission Board for several years. Alan went into retirement accomplishing his life long dream of being a rancher, owning several head of cattle and operating AWB Ranch, LLC. Family meant everything to Alan. He was a role model and a mentor to many.


Alan is survived by his wife, soul mate and partner of 38 years, Vicki Hester Baker, his daughters Amy Crummett, Stephanie Baker and Erika Dill & husband Joshua, his Son Augustus Wayne Baker & partner Rachel, Grandchildren: Chelsi Carter & husband Travis, Natali Moore & husband Bobby, Maci Crummett & partner Clayton, Wyatt and Lindsay Dill, Sylas and Sawyer Seay and a Baker on the way. Great Grandchildren: Jaydee, Raelyn, Gentry & Creedence Carter, Pyper Johnson and Nelli Moore. Brothers: Terry & wife Angel, Jay & wife Teresa and Jimmy Baker and numerous nephews and nieces. His Uncle Lawrence Baker and numerous cousins, Father and Mother-in law Vernon and Shirley Hester, Sister-in-law Judy Wilson & husband Keith.


Preceded in death by his parents Paul & Phyllis Baker, Sister-in-laws Lori Smith and Valerie Baker and numerous Uncles, Aunts and close relatives.

Services: Friday October 20, 2023 - 11:00am First Methodist Church 1615 OK 88 Claremore, OK graveside to follow Winganon Cemetery 4212 S 4200 Road Chelsea, OK then returning to the AWB for refreshments.
