Claremore - Barbara Ann Aldridge was born to Millard and Edna McDowell in Morris, Oklahoma on June 29th, 1930. She lived a long full life. She was 94 years old when she died on April 14th, 2025. She grew up in Oklahoma and attended school in Okemah and graduated in 1948. She had one brother, Allen, and one sister, Carol, both deceased. Barbara was a flight attendant when she met the love of her life on a blind date with Walton Maloy Aldridge (Speedy). Speedy worked at the Claremore Abstract Office and then at Claremore Federal Savings & Loan. They married on October 18th, 1952, in Claremore, Oklahoma, and were happily married for 48 years. After a short illness, Speedy passed away on March 15th, 2000.

They had two children, Grant Maloy and Warren Glen. In 1981, their lives changed forever when their oldest son, Grant, died at the age of 26 in a car accident. On September 29th, 1979, Warren married Terry Hagen, and they had two children, Heather DeAnne and Mark Jason. Barbara has a great-granddaughter, Jaylee Ann (Mark). November 15th, 2024, Warren married Bobbi Lynn Metzger, adding three grandchildren, Andre', Jondavid, and Sean, two daughters-in-law, Kim and Kris, and four great grandchildren, Tre, Ace, Madison, and Bodhi.

Once Speedy and Barbara retired they enjoyed traveling with friends and fishing from Lake Truman all the way to Lake Sardis and every lake in between. Barbara was a wonderful mother and housewife. Barbara enjoyed being a Cub Scout leader for her boys, gardening, and had many friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 21st, 2025 at 1pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in Claremore, OK. Services are under the care of Rice Funeral Service and Cremation Center.
