Barbara Lenore Hall Obituary

Claremore, OK - Barbara Lenore Crutchfield-Hall was born in Inola, Oklahoma on July 6th, 1940, to Tom and Susie Crutchfield. She grew up with her four siblings and many cousins that lived in the Inola area.

She attended Willieo and Tiawah elementary schools and graduated from Inola high school in 1958. She married Joe Faught and had two daughters.

Barbara attended the University of Tulsa and graduated with honors in 1971 with a degree in language arts. She accomplished this as a single mother while working full time jobs. She later continued with graduate studies at Northeastern State University.

Barbara taught at Chelsea middle school and Foyil high school. For years, people would tell her daughters in person and online how she had impacted their lives. After she retired from teaching, she chose other jobs serving people. Barbara worked for Community Action in the Elder care program. Later, she taught pre-school children for Cherokee Nation at HeadStart and also Home-based HeadStart where she would travel to Cherokee children's homes to tutor them. When she finally fully retired, she volunteered at her church in their clothes closet. Throughout her life, she had assisted people who were less fortunate than herself.

Barbara had been able to stay with her daughter Karen for several months at a time, living in Kansas City, Missouri, Hinesville, Georgia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. She traveled to Ireland with Karen, then later went on cruises with Karen and her husband Moana, touring Australia and Mexico. She visited the couple in Honolulu, Hawaii six times and was able to explore five of the eight main; Hawaiian Islands, Molokai being her favorite.

Her daughter Joleen was her rock. She and her husband Mark lived a mile away from her for fifty years. They were always there to help with repairs to the house, landscaping her large yard, assisting her with planting her beloved flowers, and taking care of her dog when she traveled.

In 2000, her son-in-law Mark had introduced her to Jon Hall. They were soon married. Jon was the love of her life and they were able to spend sixteen wonderful years together. They built their forever home and enjoyed watching the birds, butterflies and gardens grow. More recently, she enjoyed engaging with her grandson Dr. Brian Hudson and the classes he teaches in Native American Studies.

Barbara was a devout Christian and handled her illness with dignity and grace. She wanted her siblings and offspring to be comfortable and know that she was at peace. Barbara often said, "I am not afraid of death because I know where I am going".

Barbara was a dedicated mother to her daughters, often sacrificing much and always setting an excellent example for them. Her family was of the utmost importance to her. She took great joy in visiting with her siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, brother Joe Crutchfield and husband Jon Hall. She is survived by her siblings Kenneth Crutchfield, Jerry Crutchfield, Rosetta Hoflich and husband Don. Her daughters Joleen Hudson and husband Mark, Karen Faught-Huddy and husband Moana. Grandchildren Dr. Brian Hudson and wife Andrea, Shayna Jones and husband Daniel, Lyndi Hudson and J. Tyler Jones. Great-grandchildren Tyler Lee Jones and wife Erica, and Gwen Hudson. Great-great-grandchildren Isabella Jones, London Hudson, Leilani Hudson and Lexi Hamilton-on the way.
