Brian Koscilski
A memorial service celebrating and remembering the life of Brian Keith Koscilski will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2019 at Lifechanger Church in Claremore. Brian passed away on Wednesday, March 27, 2019. He was 62.
Born in Los Angeles, California on May 17, 1956 to Bennie and Bonita Ann (Brown) Koscilski, Brian was raised and educated in Claremore and attended Claremore Public Schools. He continued his education by attending RSU and Victory Bible College. It was while at Victory that Brian became passionate about mission work. He went on several mission trips to Indonesia, Haiti, and China; where he was instrumental in building schools and doing bible schools for the people in those countries. A work that he was very proud of and one that was very rewarding to him.
On June 30, 1975 in Miami, OK, Brian married his best friend and mother of his children, Kathy Hunt. Their union was gifted with two children, Adrian and Shawna. Brian provided for his family working in a number of different professions. He was a pipeline worker, not only in Alaska, but all across the country. He was an excellent carpenter and did some stump grinding work as well. Brian was a true family man and considered the times the family was all together as special. When the grandchildren came along he became known as "Papa Brian." He appreciated spending time with them, taking them for rides on his motorcycle, and letting them be his helper when he would work on his car or truck.
A man with many interests and hobbies, but perhaps his favorite was scuba diving. He was a certified scuba diver and looked forward to the trips with his son to Tenkiller Lake or Beaver Lake for some diving time.
Brian always had a Harley motorcycle and loved just getting out for a ride with no real destination in mind. His family said he was a true shade tree mechanic that enjoyed tinkering and piddling with cars and trucks. Brian spent some of his free time buying cars, fixing them up, and then reselling them. He had a great sense of humor and nothing made him happier than when he was joking and teasing with his family.
This father, grandfather, and friend is survived by his children, Adrian and Shawna Koscilski, grandchildren, Dondee Koscilski, Skyla Koscilski, Casha Dodd, Austin Koscilski, Landon Dodd, Braxton Koscilski and Absydee Koscilski, and his best friend and mother of his children, Kathy Post. Brian was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Brett.
