David Hill

A memorial service celebrating and remembering the life of David Wayne Hill will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Cedar Point Church in Claremore. David passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. He was 63. The family has entrusted DeLozier Funeral Service, Chelsea, with David's care.
The son of Donald R. and Barbara J. (Conrow) Hill, David was born in Tulsa, OK on September 9, 1955. Raised and educated in Claremore, David graduated from Claremore High School in 1973. He joined the United States Air Force and faithfully served his country until receiving his honorable discharge. Continuing his education, David attended NEO in Miami before receiving his Bachelor Degree in social work from NSU in Tahlequah. He then attended the University of Oklahoma and received his Master Degree in social work. He married the love of his life, Leanne, in a ceremony in Vian, OK, on August 30, 1998 and they became a blended family with four children.
Having a heart for children and being a voice for those unable to speak for themselves, David had a career with the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Division. He successfully handled over 800 adoptions. A foot print that David left behind that will live on for years to come. Dave was a member of Narcotics anonymous for twenty six years sharing his experience, strength and hope with others. He was faithful to conduct a youth meeting at Shadow Mountain on a regular basis and was instrumental in helping get numerous young lives back on track.
A man that started each day with prayer, David loved life and family. He had an appreciation for music and because of that his family said he had a huge impact on each of their lives. A hard worker in whatever task he undertook, David was proud of his work ethic and has even instilled that same work ethic in the lives of his children.
David loved the outdoors whether it be camping or riding his motorcycle. Dave and Leanne enjoyed many campouts and motorcycle rides throughout their almost twenty one years of marriage. Classic cars were another passion and he was very proud of a 56 T- Bird that he owned. It might be noted that according to his family he wrecked a few of those classic cars as well.
A man that made the world a better place for so many will be missed by all the lives he touched. David is survived by his wife Leanne, children, Jeremy A. Hill and wife Jodi, Colton H. Hill, and Jacob Twist, grandchildren, Morgan Rudd and husband Logan, Gunnar Hill, Lillian and Joselyn Twist, and Reagan Twist, father, Don Hill, sisters, Donna Sharp and husband Pat, Debbie Stephens and husband Kerry, Dani Freeman and husband Billy, Jami Smith and husband Lance, and brother in law, Kevin Wilson, and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Hill and son, Jesse Twist.
