Claremore - The family of Finis Wayne (F. Wayne) Nelson mourns his loss July 11, 2025.
Born December 5, 1945 in Claremore, Oklahoma, he was an extremely talented and gifted athlete that played football at OU. He was a wonderful scholar, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.
F. Wayne is survived by his daughter Natalie (Nelson) Kerr, son-in-law Kevin Kerr, two grand-daughters, June Marie Keesee and Samantha Kerr, and two great-grandchildren, Emma Marie Keesee and Taylor Wayne Keesee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Finis and Marie Nelson, and older sister Kathy Roberts.
We will forever remember his kindness, smile, love and sense of humor. Our hearts are broken. A memorial service will be held at Payne Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 6th at 2:00 pm.
