Claremore - Services to remember and celebrate the life of Frances Kathryn Kissee were held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 17, 2026, at the First Baptist Church in Claremore. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery, where Frances was laid to rest beside her husband Jack. Visitation was held at the church on Thursday evening in the chapel from 5-7 with family there to receive visitors. Frances left her temporary earthly home for her permanent heavenly home on Friday, April 10, 2026, surrounded by her family.

Born November 17, 1929, in Miami, OK, along with her twin brother Frank to W.M. and Verna (Hamilton) Hargrove. Frances was raised and educated in her birth community and graduated from Miami Public Schools. On July 2, 1950, in Miami, Frances married the love of her life Jack Kissee. Their marriage lasted for almost 41 years until his passing in June of 1991. Their union was gifted with 2 children, Steve and Cindy. A true example of a lady and the matriarch of the Kissee family. Frances spent her whole life caring for her home and family.

Frances modeled her life after Proverbs 31, and she lived her life with 2 objectives; glorify God in all that you do and be an example for others. Always faithful in her church, Frances was a strong influence on many of the ladies and young people in her church, using every opportunity to point them to God. Frances had a gift of hospitality and throughout her life she opened her home and life to others. She enjoyed playing pitch and spending time at Grand Lake with her buddies. The Sound of Music was her all-time favorite movie according to her family. Frances was an excellent cook and made sure you had your favorite meal on your birthday and any other special occasion.

When grandson Spencer came along, Frances excelled at being a grandmother. She had a very special relationship with Spencer and became one of his biggest supporters in any activity that he chose. In fact, according to her family Frances would jokingly say all my friends have pictures to show of their grandkids and since I only have one, Im going to make my picture an 8X10. Frances enjoyed everyday that God gave her. She loved to laugh and Christmas was definitely her favorite holiday. According to her family she would spend days decorating her home. When she loved, she loved with her whole heart. She was faithful to care for her parents as they became older, making the weekly drive to Miami to make sure they had everything they needed. She also loved deeply her caregivers and they in turn loved her.

A lady that has left such a legacy that will live on in the lives of her family and friends. Frances is survived by her children, Steve Kissee and wife Lisa, and daughter, Cindy Sullivan, grandson, Spencer Sullivan, and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jack, son-in-law, Ron Sullivan, brothers, Frank Hargrove and Ralph Hargrove.

The family would like to acknowledge the caregivers who took such wonderful care of Frances: Janet Space, Christina Walker, Trista Miller, Vivant Wilson, Lena Leach, Kathy Padgitt. The love you showed Frances was greatly appreciated.
