Gerald Dewayne Clark Obituary

Claremore - Gerald Dewayne Clark, known as Wayne, passed away surrounded by his family. He was born in Jenks, Oklahoma, to Eugene and Flora Helen (Dunlap) Clark.

Wayne attended school in Jenks through the 8th grade before going to work to help support his family. He later started his own construction business and hired his brothers to work with him, so he could help support their families. In the early 1970's, he opened Western Realty in Oologah and later moved the business to Claremore and later formed Wayne Clark Realty, where the majority of his children got their license and also worked with him.

Wayne spent over 50 years in real estate, which became his lifelong passion. He was a founding member and the first president of the Rogers County Realtors Association.

Outside of work, Wayne enjoyed rodeoing, and raising horses and cattle. He instilled in his children a love for rodeo as well, teaching them how to ride and also how to rope at early age, practicing on goats. He served as president of the Jenks Roundup Club and was active in the community. He also liked dancing, karaoke, and fishing. Above all else, Wayne enjoyed spending time with his family and entertaining them at his home.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bobby, James, and Johnny Clark; and daughter-in-law Leesa Clark.

He is survived by his wife, Patty; sons Steve Clark, Johnny Clark and wife Sharon, Roger Clark and girlfriend Kathy Hoskins, and Rodney Clark; daughters Carla Haddox and husband Monte, Sherry Arico and husband Rick, and Shanda Mefford and husband Skip; stepdaughter Kelly Heath and husband Chris; brother Keith Clark; sisters Helen Walker, Betty Epps, Norma Novotny, and Beverly Michael; along with many grand-children, nieces, and nephews.
