Geraldine McClurg was born on November 23, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Wallace Madison and Amanda (Hauk) Morton. Jerry was first a housewife as well as bookkeeper through the years and also sold real estate as well as raising English bulldogs. On February 20, 1958, she married Ralph Wayne McClurg, in a Tulsa ceremony. Shortly thereafter she and "Red" adopted 2 children, Jack and Joe.
Throughout her life, Jerry found solace in her faith and joy in painting. Her artistic talent shone through as she worked with various mediums including oil, watercolors, and pencil. Her creative spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her. Before moving to Colorado she was a long time member of the Blue Star Church of Christ in Claremore. Even in her final days she referred to Claremore as home where she developed and maintained so many wonderful relationships.
Jerry was preceded in death by her parents, Wallace and Amanda Morton; her husband, Ralph "Red" McClurg; her son Joe McClurg; and her sisters Juanita (Morton) Terrell and Earline (Morton) Gibson.
She is survived by her loving son Jack McClurg and his wife Mary; grandchildren Ryan McClurg and his wife Margaret, Kori McClurg and her husband Barry Sherman; as well as great-grandchildren Bailey McClurg, William McClurg, Madeline McClurg, and Cody McClurg.
Graveside service for Geraldine "Jerry" McClurg will be 2:00p.m., Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Woodlawn Cemetery. She passed away in Aurora, Colorado on April 13, 2024. She was 91.
