Claremore - Jacqueline Sue Collins Young, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and artist, went to be with her Lord and Savior when she passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, November 21, 2025. She was born August 10, 1943, in Claremore, Oklahoma, to Jack Roger Collins and Lois Irene (Tacker) Collins.
Known lovingly as "Suke" to her family, Jacqueline was the first daughter and second eldest of the nine Collins children. While growing up in a large farming family on a dairy farm in Verdigris, Oklahoma, she took care of the "little kids" and the house while "Mom and Daddy" worked in the fields. Suke attended grade school in Verdigris and later graduated from Claremore High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Jacqueline continued her education at the University of Tulsa, where she was an active member of Kappa Kappa Gamma and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Music.
Always giving her time and talents to help and support her community and church, Jacque made Christmas crafts and volunteered for many years at the Tulsa Philharmonic's Santa House, a cherished Tulsa tradition. When her children were young, she was a youth group leader, happy to play both the organ and the piano during Sunday services at John Knox Presbyterian Church.
Jacque was known for her joy and thoughtful spirit. She and the love of her life, her best friend and devoted husband, Wills, were inseparable. They could often be found relaxing at home with their dogs, traveling together, or spending precious time with their grandchildren. She and Wills also enjoyed going to shows at the Tulsa Performing Arts Theater downtown. She was an enthusiastic golfer who treasured time spent with her girlfriends on golf trips, on shopping excursions, or in the sunshine, while her kids and grandkids swam in the pool. Her warmth, laughter, and love brightened the lives of everyone who knew her.
Jacque was a devoted wife, caring mother, and grandmother, "Grana", whose constant encouragement, compassion, and unconditional support shaped her children's and grandchildren's lives in long-lasting ways. She will be remembered for her creativity and attention to detail, helping with projects, her kindness and ability to listen, her supportive nature, her quick wit, and the way she made every moment more beautiful simply by being part of it.
Suke was a family matriarch and caretaker - the steady rock when it came to helping others. She always showed up, and family meant everything to her. A loving and giving sister, aunt, and great-aunt throughout her life, as she was a proud supporter and attended all things family, Verdigris Cardinal athletics, annual fairs, and livestock shows.
Jacque lived a life filled with grace, creativity, and joy. A gifted painter, avid gardener, interior designer, and lifelong creative, she saw beauty in the world and brought it to life through all of her art. Her canvases reflected her generous spirit and deep appreciation for color, light, and nature.
Beyond her artistry, she leaves a legacy of kindness, laughter, compassion, and love. She loved Jesus and depended on Him. She will live forever in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her.
Jacqueline is survived by her children, son Rob and wife Shannon, and daughter Laurel; grandchildren Gannen, Kendall, Gage, and Carson; siblings Reg, Sharon, Lezle, Trent, and Meredith; as well as a large and loving extended family and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wills M. Young; her parents, Jack and Lois Collins; her sisters, Carol Story and Lavonne Reavis; and her brother, Clay Collins, in recent days.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 4:00 to 5:00 PM for the family. Friends are welcome from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Rice Funeral Service in Claremore. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Claremore First Methodist Church, where friends and family are invited to gather, share more memories, and honor the extraordinary life of a remarkable woman. She will be laid to rest with a graveside ceremony at Claremore's Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
