Our beloved James " Buddy" Leon Coleman of Oklahoma City, OK passed away peacefully after a long life surrounded by family on September 22, 2023 at the age of 83. He was born April 24, 1940 in Talihina, OK. He married Gloria Ann Northcutt of Oklahoma City, OK October 24, 2019. Buddy enjoyed holiday family events, the monthly birthday gatherings and especially becoming a great grandfather. He was talented at classical guitar, an avid reader and enjoyed staying up on current events. He especially loved sneaking treats to his adopted fur baby, Mia. He will be sadly missed and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Buddy graduated from Claremore High School in Claremore, OK in 1959. After graduation, Buddy joined the Air Force where he was stationed in Japan. Using his GI Bill, he attended and graduated from Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, OK with a degree in Accounting. He started his career in finance working for the Choctaw Nation at Talihina Hospital, later at Oral Roberts University as a Financial Analyst and spent the majority of his career, twenty years, at Seminole State College in Seminole, OK until he retired at 70 in 2010. He moved to OKC, OK in 2017.

He is survived by his faithful wife Gloria Ann Coleman; David Carter and family of Muskogee, OK, Darlene Ledet of Atlantic Beach, FL, Tina (Jill) Ledet of Edmond, OK and Jeanne (Trace) Welch from Idaho Springs, CO, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; his siblings Gwen Coleman Lester, Genevieve (Clifford) White, Cheryl Sixkiller and Rachel (Bob) Ouellette all from Claremore, OK. Mr. Coleman is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Lucille Coleman.
