James Dunlap, 86, passed away in his home in Eagle River, Alaska, due to his battle with Parkinson's disease on Jan. 21, 2022.
James was born to parents Thomas Jefferson Dunlap and Loma Gertrude Dunlap, on May 6, 1935, in Claremore, Okla.
He joined the Army from 1955-1957. Afterwards, he worked for Atlantic Richfield ARCO from 1958-1995. James met his loving wife Jane Dunlap, through friends in Claremore, where they married
in 1961.
He enjoyed camping with the grandkids, working on old cars, fishing, camping, skiing and snowmobiling.
The family requests no flowers, but memorials in his name may be made to support Parkinson's research efforts by the Barrow
Neurological Foundation.
James is survived by his wife, Jane Dunlap; sons, Jim Dunlap, Steve Dunlap and Chris Dunlap; daughter-in-law, Patti Dunlap; granddaughters, Jessica Clement, Chloe Giroux, Brooke Dunlap, Chelsea Dunlap, Molly Carson and Emma Dunlap; grandsons, Joe Dunlap, Gabriel Dunlap and Lucas Dunlap; great-grandsons, Christopher Dunlap and Carson Clement; great-granddaughter, Carmen Dunlap; and sisters, Phyllis Dunn and Mary Bump.
