Joseph John Marzec Jr Obituary

Joseph John Marzec Jr ("Joe") passed away at 11:20 P.M. on June 10, 2024 at Hillcrest Hospital in Claremore, OK after a battle with congestive heart failure.


Born September 4, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph and Genevieve Marzec. He and Jean Ann Lacefield were married April 10, 2004 in Phoenix, AZ.


Joe was employed by and retired from AT&T as a layout man after 41 years of service.


As a loyal Buffalo Bills fan he founded and served as president of the fan club in Phoenix, AZ. Other activities included golfing and bowling. He also boxed in the Golden Gloves competition in New York. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting. He continued his love for fishing in Claremore area ponds. His favorite pastime was cooking and he was famous for his "secret" spaghetti sauce recipe.


Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Steve.


To cherish his memory are daughters Debi of Phoenix, AZ and Teri of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Also two stepchildren, Michelle Walke of Claremore, OK; Hunter Burke of Altoona, Iowa and four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.


Joe was a member of the DAV and a military service will be held at the National Cemetary in Fort Gibson on September 6, 2024 at 2:30. MMS Payne Funeral Home provided cremation arrangements. The Patriot Pride will accompany the family and friends to the service.
